Is it legal to buy these seeds?
In many regions, seeds are commercially available and sold strictly as souvenir or collectible items. It is important to note, however, that legislation governing the cultivation of such seeds varies considerably across states and countries. Botanist Seeds provides all products exclusively on the condition that they are not used in violation of, or in conflict with, any applicable local, state, or federal laws. Customers are strongly advised to familiarize themselves with the regulations pertinent to their jurisdiction prior to purchase.

Are your seeds guaranteed to be female?
Every feminized and autoflower seed we sell is bred and selected to produce a female, bud-producing plant, and up to 99.9% of them do. That last fraction of a percent is why our 99.9% Feminized Guarantee exists. If a plant turns out male or hermaphrodite, you’re not on the hook — you choose free replacement seeds (shipping covered) or store credit for the full value. No photographs, lab reports, or written statements needed. Claims must be made within 90 days of delivery. Regular (non-feminized) seeds are excluded, since those are sold as a mix by design.
Do you offer a germination guarantee?
We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of stock freshness and quality. While external environmental factors remain beyond our control, we are pleased to guarantee that all of our seeds undergo rigorous testing to ensure a germination rate of 90% or above. In the event that you experience any difficulties, we kindly ask that you contact our dedicated support team, accompanied by photographic documentation of your cultivation process, so that we may assist you promptly and effectively.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery. To get started, contact our support team via live chat or email at contactus@botanistseeds.com to receive your Return Authorization — please note that we are unable to process returns without prior authorization.

How should I store my seeds?
To keep your seeds viable for years, store them in a cool, dark, and dry place. A popular method is keeping them in their original packaging inside a dark container in the refrigerator (approx. 5–8°C). Avoid the freezer, as it can damage the seed cells.
What are "Landrace" strains, and do you carry them?
Landrace strains represent the original, purest varieties of the plant — having evolved naturally over centuries within specific geographic regions, such as the Hindu Kush mountain range or the tropical jungles of Thailand, entirely without human intervention or selective breeding.
At Botanist Seeds, we are proud to offer a curated selection of stabilized landrace varieties for the discerning cultivator who wishes to experience the unadulterated, original genetic heritage of the plant in its most authentic form.
What is the difference between Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid?
Sativa varieties are characterized by their tall, elongated growth structure and are widely recognized for their uplifting and energizing properties. Owing to their invigorating qualities, Sativa strains are generally regarded as most suitable for daytime use.
Indica varieties typically present as shorter, bushier plants and are well known for their relaxing and sedative characteristics. Given their calming nature, Indica strains are most commonly recommended for evening or nighttime use.
Hybrid varieties are the result of a deliberate cross between Sativa and Indica genetics, carefully bred to capture and combine specific desirable traits — such as elevated yield potential, distinctive terpene profiles, or a tailored balance of effects.
Can I grow these seeds both indoors and outdoors?
Yes — the majority of our varieties are well-suited to both indoor and outdoor cultivation. Whether you are working with a controlled indoor tent setup or taking advantage of a natural outdoor environment, most of our seeds are versatile enough to thrive in either setting with the right care and conditions.
The one notable exception is our Tropical Sativa strains, which are best suited to long, warm outdoor seasons and may not perform optimally in northern climates or compact indoor environments.
What is the "Photoperiod," and why does it matter?
Photoperiod strains are varieties that rely on changes in their light and dark cycle to trigger the transition from the vegetative stage into flowering. Outdoors, this happens naturally as daylight hours shorten toward the end of summer. Indoors, this is achieved manually by adjusting your lighting schedule.
Managing the photoperiod gives growers a significant degree of control over their harvest timeline. By manipulating the light cycle, cultivators can extend the vegetative stage for larger plants or initiate flowering on their own schedule.
Is there an easier alternative? Yes, if managing light cycles sounds daunting, our Autoflowering varieties may be a better fit. These strains flower automatically based on age rather than light exposure, making them a popular choice for beginners or those seeking a more straightforward grow.
How long do seeds last?
When stored correctly, cannabis seeds can remain viable for several years without any significant deterioration in quality or germination rate. As a general rule of thumb, seeds that are properly stored can last anywhere from two to five years, and in some cases even longer.
What makes CBD Strains special?
CBD (Cannabidiol) strains are a unique and increasingly popular category of cannabis that have been selectively bred to produce elevated levels of CBD while typically containing very low levels of THC — the compound most commonly associated with psychoactive effects. This distinctive cannabinoid profile is what sets CBD strains apart from their traditional counterparts and makes them a compelling choice for a wide range of growers and consumers.
What is the difference between Photoperiod and Feminized
While “Feminized” and “Photoperiod” are often discussed together, they actually describe two different traits of a plant.
Feminized refers to the plant’s gender, ensuring it grows into a bud-producing female rather than a pollen-producing male, while Photoperiod refers to the plant’s “internal clock,” meaning it will only begin to flower when its light cycle is shifted to 12 hours of darkness. Essentially, a strain can be both at once—a Feminized Photoperiod strain is guaranteed to be female but gives the grower total control over when it starts blooming by manually changing the light schedule.
What is the difference between Autoflowering and Photoperiod strains?
The primary difference between Autoflowering and Photoperiod strains lies in how the plant decides it’s time to start producing buds.
Photoperiod plants are light-sensitive and will stay in their “growth” phase indefinitely until you manually change their light schedule to 12 hours of total darkness, giving the grower complete control over the plant’s final size and timing.
In contrast, Autoflowering strains have a built-in biological clock that triggers flowering automatically based on age—usually just 3 to 4 weeks after sprouting—regardless of how much light they receive. While photoperiods generally offer higher yields and the ability to take clones, autoflowers are prized for their speed and “set-it-and-forget-it” simplicity, often going from seed to harvest in under 10 weeks.
